Architectural Specifications - WCF-50

ENGLISH

Fiberglass shall be as outlined in the North American Insulation Manufacturing Association (NAIMA 202-96) specification, or equal, with an R-value of ______ when not compressed.  The fiberglass shall be faced with ______, as specified below, on one side.  The composite of fiberglass and facing shall have surface burning characteristics not to exceed 25 flame spread and 50 smoke developed when tested in accordance with Underwriters Laboratories 723 test method or ASTM E 84 test method.

Facing shall be composed of 0.0003” white coated aluminum foil with an elastomeric vapor barrier coating, a proprietary inner core, a reinforcing layer, and 0.0005” metallized polyester film.  The product shall be reinforced with a 5x5 tri-directional scrim which has a blend of fiberglass and polyester yarns.  The resulting facing shall have a water vapor transmission rate of 0.02 US perm (ASTM E96, Procedure A), a beach puncture of 90 scale units and a mullen burst of 100 P.S.I.  Tensile strength shall be 60# in the machine direction and 55# in the cross-machine direction.
